Business Development Manager

Phoenix Logistics is seeking a Business Development Manager who has experience in the following: generating leads, writing pricing proposals, & landing new business in the 3PL space.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Generate new 3PL business using existing & potential customer networks
  • Manage existing national accounts & cultivate growth
  • Negotiate complex warehouse agreements
  • Prepare & submit RFP responses to 3PL users
  • Support operations team in improving performance
  • Determine pricing strategies to meet client demands
  • Assist in other duties as needed

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • A successful track record in sales & landing new business

3PL Independent Sales Representative

Phoenix Logistics is looking for an experienced independent sales rep that has extensive knowledge and contacts in the logistics space. 5+ years preferred. Retainer and commission to be negotiated.

Requirements:

  • Ability to vet viable customers in need of 3PL services, write opening proposals based on customer’s needs and cost structures provided.
  • Assist with RFP submissions.

Strategic Account Manager

The Strategic Account Manager maintains and expands relationships with important large customers. Assigned to three to five named customers, the Strategic Account Manager is responsible for achieving strategic account objectives.

The Strategic Account Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers, while leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met a by the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including the assigned sales associate, support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Works closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
  • Proactively leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for a one and three-year period.
  • Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.

 

Qualifications:

  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills in all environments including in person, via email and on the phone.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Business Intelligence Analyst

This position is responsible for in depth analysis and data gathering on potential target geographic markets & customers, competitors, and service offerings. This involves acquiring knowledge of the third party logistics industry, developing key industry contacts, and keeping abreast of current industry trends. This position will work closely with various groups within the company including sales, marketing and operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze market conditions in local, regional and national geographic areas to determine the feasibility of offering services and investing in particular areas.
  • Work with our sales group, potential customers and operations group to define potential service offerings and determine their feasibility.
  • Develop recommendations on specific customers to pursue from a strategic sales perspective with the recommendations being based upon broad industry research and intelligence gathering on potential customers and existing competitors.
  • Define and document research methodology and data gathering procedures.
  • Prepare reports and graphic illustrations to deliver data findings.
  • Work with our Client Solutions Group in the preparation of RFP/RFI responses.

 

Qualifications:

  • Degree in business, logistics or related field.
  • Three years of experience as a business analyst.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret data and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong knowledge of lead generation tools such as LinkedIn and Google Analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills in all environments including in person, via email and on the phone. The ability to write and present ideas well is essential to success in this position.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Customer Support Assistant

This position will initiate and assist with the creation of rate letters, business proposals, and other customer presentations. Additional duties will include handling incoming customer calls and inquiries, often as the first connecting point between customers and the WSI team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain workflow, coordinate tasks, and monitor deadlines to assure the timely, accurate completion of customer proposals by with the rest of the Customer Solutions Group.
  • Through the timely use and updating of templates, support the organization in the rate letter process and annual rate renewals.
  • Develop RFP and other responses for new and existing customers that require the creation/editing of content. Strong writing skills and logistics knowledge are critical to success in this position.
  • Give input into the creation and revision of systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices and workflow.
  • Coordinate and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) users, customers, knowledge base with an emphasis on data integrity.
  • Maintain rapport with customers, managers, and employees by arranging continuing contacts; researching and resolving problem situations and offering support to the group where needed.
  • Provide information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating needed actions to management; discovering irregularities; determining continuing needs.
  • Accomplish group and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
